SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

"Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (CCC 1213)

This sacrament, which initiates us into church membership, can be arranged for newly born by calling the Parish Center. Parents provide most of a child's religious education and faith formation. For this reason, our pastor or deacon meet with you to get to know you and to explain the process. We welcome all parents seeking to have their children baptized. For more information please call 860-583-4697 or office@parish4u.info.

Sacrament of Baptism for Older Children or Adults

There are many families, who for a variety of reasons have not had their children baptized as infants. Families may feel uncomfortable about bringing older children to be baptized. They may feel that the church will judge them or disapprove. Nothing could be further from the truth. Baptism is not only for infants but for all who seek to be a member of the Church and who seek to grow in love and knowledge of the Lord. We welcome all to celebrate the sacrament of baptism regardless of their age. Anyone interested is asked to contact the Parish Center 860-583-4697 or office@parish4u.info.
